Southern Highlands · Est. Bowral
The most important hour
in your week, after sixty.
Private mat pilates, brought to your living room. Backed by the best evidence we have for staying strong, steady and independent through your sixties, seventies and beyond. Serving Bowral, Mittagong, Burradoo and the surrounding Southern Highlands.
The evidence
Why this matters more than most people realise.
After the age of sixty, the things that quietly shape the rest of life are no longer cardio or weight. They are balance, strength, posture, and the confidence to keep moving. One in three Australians over sixty-five has a fall every year. Falls are the leading cause of injury hospitalisation and injury death in older Australians, and most of them happen at home.
The good news is that this is one of the most preventable risks in later life. Decades of clinical research, including multiple systematic reviews and meta-analyses, show that mat pilates significantly improves balance, core strength, posture and functional mobility in older adults. These are the very capacities that protect against falls and preserve independence. It is gentle, low-impact, and one of the few forms of exercise that can be safely practised well into the eighties and nineties.
An unhurried hour, three times a week. A small thing that protects a very large thing.

In their words
From clients across the Highlands.
A quiet practice tends to build a quiet kind of loyalty. A few words from clients who've been with Amber for a while.
Amber is a lovely young woman and a thoroughly competent instructor. She arrives on time, sets up quietly, and the hour goes quickly. I feel stronger and steadier on my feet than I have in years.
We were quite nervous about starting at our age, but Amber put us both at ease immediately. She explains everything clearly and never pushes us beyond what feels right. My husband and I look forward to Wednesday mornings.
After my hip replacement I was reluctant to drive to a studio. Having Amber come to the house has been a quiet pleasure, and my balance has come back remarkably well.
